"Roll With the Flava" - The last great hip hop ensemble

To me this song marks the end of an era. I loved Hip Hop. It was that girlfriend who was always there when I needed her. Hip Hop made me feel the full spectrum of emotion. Whether it was the anger from Ice Cube's Death Certificate, the silliness of EPMD's You Had Too Much To Drink, or the 4000 year trip back in time from X-Clan's Blackwards to the East, hip hop always took me to wherever I wanted to go. So when I was presented with this song and being repeatedly hit with a barrage of the greatest A and B list emcees of the era, I was in heaven. little did I know such a thing would never happen again.
So now, 16 years later, I look back to that old girlfriend and remember when she was new, dynamic, alluring, and powerful. I look at her now and she's an ugly, noisy, rambling, corrupted, fool, full of madness and totally devoid of all of the things that made me love her. I guess it's better to have loved and lost, huh?

Classic hip hop.. I haven't heard Chip Fu from the Fu Schnickens in years!
I used to love Black Sheep back in the day.. Dres and Mr. Lawnge. A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing is one of my top ten favorite albums.
